Vacmaster VWM510 Review

Vacmaster VWM510 Review

Most portable vacs tend to have lower suction than the bigger ones and most wall mountable vacuums that you can use while mounted a too big to carry around as handheld vacs. But when I discovered the Vacmaster VWM510, I realized it is possible to have a portable vacuum, that has industrial grade suction, and can be used mounted on the wall or carried around as a handheld vac and the thing is although it is small in appearance, its capacity is adequate for big tasks.

Vacmaster VWM510

Who is it made for?

This is a versatile vacuum that aims at anyone who is looking for a powerful vacuum that does not take up a lot of space and can be used for anything and everything. It can suit the car owner, the homeowner, a handyman as well as the workshop.

Features of the Vacmaster VWM510 5-Gallon Wall Mountable Wet Dry Vacuum

Powerful Suction

Despite its size, it can tackle most of the messes other vacs in its class may fail to handle, this is thanks to its 5 peak horsepower motor that delivers industrial grade suction. You can use it for example to remove stubborn pet hair entangled in the carpet or dust that is lodged in a crack in your basement. Wherever you may be, home, workshop or your recreational van, this Vacmaster VWM510 has the suction to handle big or small jobs.

Wall Mountable

This Vacmaster VWM510 comes with an easy to install wall mount clip and it detaches very easily from the mount for use as a portable vac. The wall mount can be used to store the vacuum and save valuable space in your garage and the tools can also be stored onboard along with the cord. Speaking of the cord, it is long enough for you to use the vacuum while it is mounted on the wall. I find it convenient not to have to carry the entire unit as I vacuum the car.

Remote control handle

This is a smart feature that more wall mountable vacuums should adopt. Instead of walking to the vacuum on the wall, you can use the control switch on the handle to turn on and off the vacuum which saves time and energy. I am not just referring to your energy, but even electricity because I find that I am more likely to leave the vacuum on as I take out the car mats and shake them because I do not want to walk to the wall and turn it off and then on again. So with this feature, I will turn off the switch.

Dual purpose filter

The filter cartridge of the Vacmaster VWM510 can be used either for dry or wet vacuuming. I constantly find it a bother having to stop as a vacuum to change filters when switching from dry to wet or vice versa. With this filter, you can just continue without such interruptions which gets the work done faster. And if you are the kind who forgets to change filters, this is probably a blessing for you. It is also worth noting that the filter can be washed and reused.

Ample reach

I had mentioned earlier that it is possible to vacuum while the vac is mounted on the wall, this is because the hose is a 2 part hose with a flex hose that measures 10 feet and a standard one of 11 feet so when you join them you have a total of 21 feet which is enough reach to vacuum a car outside the garage while the vac is mounted on the wall. Even when you remove the vac from the wall, the cord is 20 feet so this almost doubles the reach you have.
